Supermoon fraudsters

Is it just me who is tickled by all these supermoon pictures all over social media? Everyone is doing it.

Pictures of the moon.

If you have taken a picture of the moon and it is just the moon it is just the moon. If the only thing in your picture is the moon, then the only thing in your picture is the moon, it is just the moon. Nothing else. Nothing super.

Not even, (as some people are doing), if it is taken through a telescope. Lord preserve us! That is just a moon and you have enlarged it with your telescope.

It is exactly the same moon we saw last week. The same one. Enlarged.

The moon is in the sky. It is nearer than usual. That makes it look bigger. If it is bigger because of a telescope it is bigger because of a telescope. If the only thing in your picture is a moon, it is just the moon.

The moon is the moon is the moon is the moon. Is that all you have in your picture? Then that is all it is; the moon.

If you are showing us a picture of the moon rising above a mountain with pine trees at either side of the moon and the moon looks really large, then, it is a supermoon.

Otherwise. No. Just a moon. I want to see no more pictures of just a moon looking like just a moon claiming to be other than just a moon. If it looks like a moon it is a moon. Just a moon.

Rant over.

Art Class Autobiography in Pictures. Lets see how I progress.

And todays work:

minster-and-sevenI call the above piece Minster and Seven in memory of artist and poet Dennis Knowles – who I feel was with me in spirit as I experimented with pallet knife for the first time. It was hurredly done and with no pallet or water or cloth.

Thank you Ana Maus for our time in the Minster gardens.

Heres the latest one;bridge 03.jpg

Art Class Autobiography in Pictures. Images only, no dialogue, lets see how I progress. Hopefully you own inner diaologue will allow you to learn as you go along too.

Well, alright, I will add a bit of dialogue. Now that I am updating it.

We moved on to studying David Hockney.hockney tree.jpg

That one is a direct copy of a small part of a larger piece of his, or to put it simply; forgery. 😉

I wanted to work on having a foreground. And with light. Hockney isn’t perhaps the best person to learn light from. But I managed to come up with; Misty Wood.horses neck.jpg

Horses neck.wolds-road

The next challenge to choose a piece of his to copy. I went for this (I call mine Wold’s Road) as I felt I knew that road and wanted to travel it again…
