Norse Gods and Goddesses Prose Poems – #3 Night

Norse Gods and Goddesses Prose Poems – #3 Night

A collection of pieces covering many of the Gods and Goddesses from the Nordic Mythos following research for Gods Bless Ya!! Rock opera with Alda and Sigrun  and a forth-coming book with SigRun Viking Art & Design.

Night

Dark of eye Narvi-daughter Night flies the Weaver of Dreams while elves feel Sleep’s Soothing and dwarves rest ere they raise the sky. Know ‘when you are’ as her moon waxes and your madness wanes.

Know you that nothing that is or was came before her

Night is the start and the beginning

Even Earth came from her

Narvisdottir takes on the mantle of darkness

Becoming night

Dark. Dark Night, dark of eye and of complexion

Her hair flows like a maelstrom

Night has a fashion of dark cream

and a subtle sublimeness to open your eyes to

Awaken in the middle of her and know her charms

They are part of the forever

She is many wedded

Many offspring are procured from her

Night, where pleasure and passion and repercussion are sought after

Dive into her, sleep yee or waken

Night is upon us be shaken deeply

When you are lost within remember morning

Recall well that in your blindness of Night that

She brings us day

Night rides the stallion Hrimfaxi;

Foam from his flying bit forms the dew on the dales

Yes she rides Hrimfaxi, yet

She also brings Nightmare

She Nightmare and her nine riders

They also ride you

In the dark world of men

Night brings the strength

The weakness

The willing plan

The worrisome failings

The chance to stride through a new morning

Have you the strength to endure Night
